Ingredients
- 4 chicken legs (or drumsticks)
- 250 grams of bulgur
- 1 onion

- 1 red bell pepper
- 2 tomatoes
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon paprika powder
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 500 ml water
Instructions
- Finely chop the onion, garlic, green bell pepper, red bell pepper, and tomatoes.
- Heat the olive oil in a large pan over medium heat and sauté the chopped onion and garlic until they are translucent.
- Add the chicken legs to the pan and cook them until they are golden brown on all sides.
- Add the chopped green and red bell peppers to the pan and cook for another 5 minutes.
- Stir in the tomato paste, paprika powder, black pepper, and salt, and mix everything well.
- Add the chopped tomatoes and let the mixture simmer for a few minutes until the tomatoes soften.
- Pour in the bulgur and mix it well with the vegetables and spices in the pan.
- Add 500 ml of water, stir briefly, and bring everything to a boil.
- Once it’s boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover the pan with a lid, and let it simmer gently for about 20-25 minutes until the bulgur is cooked and the chicken is tender. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
- Check if the bulgur has absorbed all the water and the chicken is fully cooked. If needed, let it simmer a little longer.
- Serve the Turkish chicken with bulgur hot and enjoy!
