Turkish Meatballs Koftas

I have here a traditional kofte recipe. With a few ingredients and herbs, you too can make tasty and juicy koftas.

Cook Time 10 minutes
Additional Time 10 minutes
Total Time 30 minutes

Ingredients

  • 500 g ground beef
  • 1 grated onion
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 clove grated garlic
  • 1 egg
  • 5 tablespoons breadcrumbs
  • Handful of parsley
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (pul biber)
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil for frying

Instructions

    1. Mix everything and knead well with your hand.
    2. Let the kofta mixture rest in the refrigerator for about 30 min.
    3. Bake the koftas in the pan with sunflower oil, turn the koftas a few times on both sides so that they are baked well on the outside but remain juicy on the inside.
    4. Serve the delicious koftas with Turkish rice.

Notes

Serve your Turkish meatballs with Turkish rice or Turkish rice with orzo.
